Mindfulness Connector | Animal-Assisted Intervention Specialist
John Chua works at the intersection of animals, people, and community care. He designs and runs animal-assisted learning sessions that build steady emotional skills, calm interaction, and responsible care for living beings.
He is a Certified Animal-Assisted Intervention Specialist and a member of the Association of Animal-Assisted Intervention Professionals (AAAIP) and completed formal training in veterinary technology and animal care at Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic.
John has worked with youth at risk, neurodivergent learners, and seniors in care settings, including work in nursing homes, schools, and community spaces. His sessions focus on slow engagement, safe touch, and simple care routines to build patience, empathy, and soft skills in a safe and supported way. When he is not working, he volunteers with The Good Earth School, supporting animal welfare education, intergenerational projects, nature-based learning.
He now facilitates animal-assisted interactions for individuals, schools, and community groups, guided by evidence-based and data-driven practices. John is committed to building more local research and stronger practice standards in Singapore.
