Dr. Kathirasan K (Kathir), the Founder CEO of the Centre, is a Certified Mindfulness Teacher - Professional (CMT-P) and a Qualified Supervising Teacher of the International Mindfulness Teachers Association (IMTA). With over two decades of dedicated mindfulness practice, he is globally recognized as a scholar-practitioner deeply rooted in the ancient Indic traditions of Meditation and Philosophy.

 

In 2016, Kathir pioneered the development of the Mindfulness-Based Wellbeing Enhancement (MBWE) program, a unique blend of MBSR and MBCT infused with the principles of Positive Psychology. His groundbreaking work expanded the horizons of secular mindfulness, transcending its conventional clinical applications. He remains a staunch advocate for the appreciative value of mindfulness, emphasizing its cultural adaptability, a vital aspect when teaching in diverse contexts. Furthermore, Kathir is committed to upholding the ethical foundations of mindfulness, a commitment he imparts to the many mindfulness teachers he has trained and certified since 2017.

 

Kathir possesses a remarkable skill to contextualize mindfulness within diverse cultural and professional domains. His expertise spans education, leadership, teaching, learning, personal development, coaching, counseling, career advancement, and stress management. As an Organizational Development (OD) Consultant, he discerns the profound relevance of mindfulness in optimizing organizational and workplace well-being.

He is the author of five books: ‘Mindfulness in 8 Days’ (2017), 'Mindfulness Based Leadership' (2018), 'Mindfulness for the Family' (2020), 'Mindfulness at Work' (2023) and 'Introducing Mindfulness-Based Wellbeing Enhancement' (2023).

 

Kathir brings a wealth of experience with over 25 years in leadership, project management, and consultancy roles. He possesses a natural aptitude for strategic thinking and excels in synthesizing diverse systems to drive organizational success. Kathir's expertise extends to various mindfulness applications within educational and corporate contexts, making him a versatile and valuable asset in these domains.

Kathir holds an impressive academic background, including a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Meditation, a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), and certification as a Yoga Instructor.
