Kathirasan (Kathir) is the Founder and Director of the Centre. He is at present a Doctoral Researcher, researching on Yoga Philosophy and Meditation. He has practised mindfulness for more than 20 years, since 1999 and has been trained by the eminent Mindfulness teacher, Shamash Alidina and trained in Yoga by the world renowned SVYASA. He has the ability to contextualise Mindfulness within any culture and in the areas of education, leadership, teaching, learning, personal development, coaching, counselling, career development and stress management. Being an OD Consultant, Kathir sees the relevance of Mindfulness in Organisational and Workplace settings. He is the author of two books: ‘Mindfulness in 8 Days: How to find inner peace in a world of stress and anxiety’ (2017) and “Mindfulness Based Leadership: The Art of Being a Leader - Not Becoming One” (2018), both published by Marshall Cavendish International.
Kathir brings over 22 years of working experience as a Leader, Project Manager and Consultant. He has a penchant for big picture thinking and has the ability to integrate diverse systems for organisational success. He has led workshops for senior/middle management as well as all levels of staffs in Singapore, China, Malaysia, India, Taiwan, USA and Australia.
He is familiar with various Mindfulness applications in Educational and Corporate settings. Kathir has also spoken at various conferences and forums on mindfulness.
He is currently a Doctoral Candidate researching in the subject of Yoga Philosophy and Meditation. He is also a certified Yoga Instructor and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) amongst his many qualifications.
